Caney Valley Academic Teams

The Caney Valley Academic Teams traveled to Coweta Monday where the varsity finished 2-1 and the JV won all three.

 

The varsity team narrowly lost to Preston 120-140 before beating Coweta 210-180 and Hilldale 190-100.  Cameron C. led the team with 120 points while Zane and David C. added 70 points apiece.

 

The JV beat Preston 90-50, Coweta 130-90, and Hilldale 170-10.  Leading the scoring was freshman Dakota J. with 130 points.  Sophomores Alex T. and Brandon R. tallied 100 and 20 points respectively.

 

Next week the Trojans will host the conference on Monday, compete on I Want Answers Tuesday, and travel to Kremlin Hillsdale on Saturday.

 

The Caney Valley High School Academic teams started their season Monday night, September 11, at Glenpool High School where the varsity finished 2-1.  They beat 5A Glenpool 180-170 and 4A Wagoner 230-190 before falling to 4A Cascia Hall 180-220.  Leading the scoring for the team was Senior Cameron C. with 100 points.  Senior Zane C. and Sophomore David C. tallied 80 points each, and Junior Katy L. rounded out the scoring with 10.

 

The Junior Varsity team played suited up 4 players who had never played in conference before.  Although they didn't win this time, Coach Martha Ward is confident that this young team will continue to improve and be extremely competitive as the season progresses.  Leading the scoring was sophomore Alex T. with  50 points followed by freshman Dakota J. with 40 points.  Sophomore Brandon R. who has only been in academics for 2 weeks rounded out the scoring with 10 points.  Sophomore Paige S. rounded out the team and was instruments in the 60 second rounds.
