Wendy's High School Heisman CV School Winners
Caney Valley is pleased to announce the 2016 Wendy’s High School Heisman local winners: Abigail S. and Wyatt W.. Both are seniors at Caney Valley and participate in track.
Nominated students had to have a cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of a B (3.0) or better and participate in at least one of the 43 sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games or the National Federation of State High School Association and sponsored by your school. Students also had to show leadership in school and in the community and serve as a role model for underclassman.
Students and their guests will be honored on Monday, October 31, at the Greenwood Cultural Center in Tulsa. The luncheon is in recognition of all the outstanding student athletes from all across Oklahoma. Scheduled to appear will be Heisman Trophy winners Billy Sims, Jason White, and Steve Owens. Students will have an opportunity for autograph and to take pictures with the Heisman winners, as well as with the Heisman trophy.
Abby is the daughter of Kamichia and Brice Shepherd. Besides running track she serves as a football manager.
Wyatt is the son of Sheila Parker and J.R. Whitworth. He also serves as student council president.
Coach Shayne Cramer is accompanying the students to this event.
