8th Grade OJABA Regional Runner Ups
Launch the media gallery 1 playerCongratulations to the Caney Valley 8th Grade Academic Team for finishing OJABA Regional Runner Up on Saturday at Adair. The Trojans were the number 2 seed and defeated Afton 2 280-100 and Kansas 280-110 before losing to Adair 210-250 in the winners bracket. They battled back and defeated number 1 seed Oklahoma Union 290-170 and Adair 320-180 to send the tournament into a round 9 championship game with Adair. The Trojans gave it their all but lost to the champions 100-170. The Trojan's team average for the day was 246.7.
Leading the scoring for the Trojans was Hayden T with 320 points followed by Noah R with 170, Jace V with 120, and Brodie H with 50 points. Ian T, Kelli C, and Cashous W also contributed to the victory.
Next Saturday the team will compete in the OAAC Midlevel State Championship in El Reno while the 9th grade team will travel to Chelsea for OJABA Regionals.
