SLAM will be in session During Spring Break 8:00-4:00 pm
The SLAM program will provide a bus that will take students to 3 different drop-offs to better serve our parents. It is a work in progress and times may change as needed. The bus will leave the Elementary at 5:15 and proceed to No-Limit Power Sports on Road 2400 and HWY 75 and wait for five minutes, then proceed to the Superintendent's office parking lot at Caney Valley High School in Ramona and wait for 5 minutes. The bus will then proceed to Vera grocery in Vera and wait for 5 minutes. Students will be brought back to school for parents to pick up. If school is let out early on a snow day, we will not have a SLAM day. Those days that school stays in session but the weather continues to worsen, may result in SLAM cancellation. In the event this happens, we will notify each parent or guardian by phone. It is imperative that we have up to date information so that you can be notified in that event.
The Caney Valley SLAM program is a voluntary program designed to help families by providing a safe, fun, and educationally enriched environment for K-5th grade students. The program is from 3 pm to 6 pm, Monday through Thursday.
As a student, I agree to follow all rules and participate in daily scheduled activities. I agree to respect teachers as well as tutors, and any other staff members. I will be expected to follow the instructions given by the teachers, tutors, and staff for the safety of myself and others. I understand that misbehavior will not be tolerated and continued episodes can and will result in being unable to attend the program.
I understand that the family and particularly the parent/guardian's encouragement and support are necessary for the success of each individual family member. I, as a parent/guardian, understand that it is my responsibility to have my child picked up by 6 pm. I understand that if my child consistently misbehaves, they may be excluded from participating in the program. If you have any questions or comments, please contact the school at 918-535-2205.
