Rick Peters from Springer hired as new Superintendent

Rick Peters was a graduate of the Fontana High School in Fontana, California in 1972. He received a Bachelors of Science in Health and Physical Education from Oral Roberts University in 1976. In 1983, Mr. Peters received a Masters Degree from Oklahoma State University in Educational Administration.

Rick Peters began his teaching career as a Junior High and High School Science teacher in the Bristow Public Schools at Bristow, Oklahoma in 1976. He also taught in the Pawhuska High School at Pawhuska, Oklahoma. During the 23 years he was in Pawhuska, he served as Junior High Principal, Assistant High School Principal, Athletic Director, High School Boys Basketball Coach, and Science teacher. In 2002, Mr. Peters accepted the positions of Assistant Superintendent, Federal Program Director and Curriculum Director in the Poteau Public Schools at Poteau, Oklahoma. In 2006, Mr. Peters accepted the position of Superintendent of Springer Public Schools at Springer, Oklahoma.

Mr. Peters has a wife, Terri, two daughters, Kristyn and Blaire and one grand child, Cayden.

Mr. Peters will assume his duties at Caney Valley Public School on July 1, 2009.
