Cantrell’s Comments & Return to Learn Plan

July 14, 2020

Hello Trojan Family,

It is hard to believe that we are now officially less than one month away from the start of school.  Our kids have not been to class in our buildings since the middle of March, and we are eager to get them back into a routine and continue developing these young gentlemen and ladies into tomorrow’s leaders.

Last night our board reviewed and approved information related to the beginning of school.  The entire 9-page document can be found on the www.caneyvalleyschool.org website.

We are also finishing a flyer with FAQ to better inform our parents about the impending school year.  This document will be posted as soon as the district leadership team has a chance to approve it.  It is imperative that everyone realize that this situation will remain fluid throughout the summer.  Decisions that are made today can change tomorrow depending on the severity of cases of COVID-19 in and around our district.

I want to thank everyone for their warm welcome into the Caney Valley Family.  I hope to see a packed stadium this Saturday as we bring a positive end to the 2019-20 school year, and recognize all of the hard work performed by the Class of 2020.  I am honored to be able to recognize this group of students as my first official event as superintendent.

As we begin this journey toward the beginning of the 2020-21 school year, I want to encourage everyone to focus on the positives around us.  We are blessed as a nation, state, and school district.  I want to encourage everyone to Do Good Things, and Go Trojans!
