The Caney Valley High School Academic teams traveled to Glenpool Monday for their first match of the year. The
varsity finished the evening 2-1 with their lone loss by only one last minute question. They defeated defending
4A state champion Wagoner 220 – 200, lost a heartbreaker to 4A Glenpool 150-160, and then came from behind to
defeat last year’s 3A area champion and state trophy winner Preston 190-170. The team was led by Aaron M.
with 140 points, Cameron C. with 80 points, Kaitlin K. with 70 points, and captain A.J Y. with 10
points.
The JV also finished the night with a 2-1 record. They lost to Wagoner 100-210 and then regrouped to defeat
Glenpool 150-140 in sudden death and Preston 130 – 100. The well-balanced attack was led by captain Zane C.
with 70 points followed closely by David C. with 60 points, and Katy L. with 50 points.
The Trojans compete again next Monday at Coweta.
