Caney Valley Academic Kremlin-HIllsdale Champions!
Saturday the Caney Valley Academic Team won their second straight Kremlin-Hillsdale tournament with a perfect 6 - 0 record. In pool play, the Trojans beat Kremlin Black 330-140, Medford Red 320-130, and Paden 280-220. The wins secured the number one seed in bracket play. The Trojans then defeated Dover 300-220, Tonkawa 330-160, and Kremlin Purple 250-190 for the championship. Leading the Trojans was Noah R with 450 points followed by Hayden Thom with 270, Jace V with 190, Brodie H with 50, and Ian T with 10. Noah's 240 points in pool play earned him a spot on the all-tournament team where he was tied for the 2nd highest scorer.
The championship win put Coach Martha Ward over 600 career high school varsity wins. She now has 601.
The Trojans compete Monday in the New Frontier Conference Tournament where they are the Number 1 seed. On Saturday, they travel to Commerce and will attempt to earn their 8th straight regional championship.
