Academic Area Champions

The Caney Valley Academic Team hosted the Area Tournament Saturday at the Ramona First Baptist Church.and won for the first time since 2021.  Entering the tournament as the number 2 seed, they beat Mounds 390-120, Kiefer 260-160, and Oklahoma Christian Academy 320 - 150 in the championship.  The team was lead by Captain Noah R with 200 points followed closely by Brodie H with 190.  Hayden T added 60 points while Jace V rounded out the scoring with 30 points.

With their average of 323.33, they should be one of the top teams at the state tournament which will be held on January 31, at Rose State College.

Since the Area Championship trophy was not received in time, the team had to improvise. We look forward to receiving the official trophy next week!
